The Kick-off meeting was held on 22 February 2016 at Gazi University Beşevler Campus
The main objective of the project is to design a vocational training program/curricula for teachers and other professional who are working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and have no former education in the past in the field of special education.
Training program will be prepared in 3 modules ‘’managing and changing behavior’’, ‘’improvement of communication & language skills’’ and ‘’evidence based practices’’ through utilizing the best practices of the European partners, The vocational training program will also be adaptable to the digital platform using ICT and other educational tools aimed at training & retraining of current and potential target group. To this end, an e-learning portal will be designed within the project.
The Kick-off meeting of the project was held on 22 February 2016 at Gazi University, Faculty of Education. Representatives from ZİÇEV, the coordinator organization, Gazi University, İlkalkım Special Education and Rehabilitation Center, Gölbaşı Special Education and Practices School, Università del Terzo Settore -UniTS-from İtaly and Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Frechen Verbund NRW Süd (CJD BBW Frechen) from Germany attended to the meeting.
Opening speech on behalf of ZİÇEV was made by Asuman Erdem. In her speech, she introduced ZİÇEV and mentioned about the project and its outcomes in the field of special education.
In the later stages of the meeting, participants introduced themselves and their organizations. They also expressed their expectations from the project. After the discussions on the project's overall framework and methodology, all project activities were overviewed and the dates of transnational meetings and joint staff trainings were decided. The meeting was ended after the presentation on administrative & financial issues and questions & answers session.
